McKenzie House was named after Helen McKenzie who worked as a Maths Teacher and Head of House at Colonel Frank Seely for over 20 years. Sadly, Helen passed away whilst fighting her battle with Cancer. She stayed teaching right until the very end as it was her passion.
She showed incredible courage and resilience in her time at Colonel Frank Seely, always putting others before herself and making us all smile with her infectious laugh. Helen was an exceptional role model for us all and always encouraged pupils to be aspirational.
Helen perfectly encompasses everything about the values of McKenzie House which is why her legacy deserves to live on in the name.
McKenzie House core values:

Right now, more than 3 million people are living with cancer in the UK. By 2030 this figure will rise to 4 million.
Macmillan Cancer Support is here to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, by providing physical, financial and emotional support. They'll do whatever it takes, no matter what a person's needs are, they will listen and support them however they need to — big or small.
