On Thursday 7th November the school held its Dragons’ Den Super Learning Day for Year 8 pupils. Year 8 arrived at school, ready for a day of challenge, teamwork and creativity and they certainly did not let us down. Their task in one day was to design and brand a soft drink designed for the youth market. Lesson one saw pupils think of a suitable brand name, logo and brand image. Pupil’s then went in to the Maths department where they made their packaging and added their brand identity. Pupils were then challenged to create and write an effective pitch which would sell their product to their target audience. Pupils presented their pitch to their curriculum groups and decided who would represent them in the grand final after lunch. The grand final saw six groups of entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to 3 special Dragons and their own year group. The winners produced a fantastic pitch and wowed the audience with their ‘Squeeze’ design.
