Year 10 Study Skills Evening for Parents/Carers

Now that your child has made the transition to Key Stage 4 study in Year 10, we would like to invite you to a Study Skills Evening where we will offer you, as parents and carers, some  important information and practical ideas which you can use to both help and support your son/daughter in their studies.   Together, these will help to improve performance in future examinations.

Many subjects are now teaching the new specifications and we hope to give you some guidance on how these are different from previous courses.

During the first few weeks of Key Stage 4 study, teachers have been introducing subject specific skills and outlining the expectations they have for pupils in their subject.  However, success will largely depend on pupils being able to organise and manage their time effectively at home as well as in school.

We hope that you will “pick up” a few “tips” as to how you might effectively support your son/daughter and are therefore hope to see you on Wednesday 12 October in the Main School Hall.
