Year 10 pupils take part in The Real Business Challenge

An 8 strong team of Year 10 Business pupils visited the iPro Stadium in Derby on Wednesday 11 February to take part in the East Midlands Final of ‘The Real Business Challenge’. They had already beaten 60 other schools that had entered the competition to make it to the regional final so that in its self was a fantastic achievement. The task for the final day was to work with advisors from Coca-Cola to produce an advertising campaign for the ‘Special Olympics’ taking place in LA later this year. The team then had to present their idea to a panel of judges including the Vice President of Coca-Cola and an audience of over 150 people. This was a daunting prospect but one that the team rose to, they presented the idea with confidence of people much older and experienced than themselves. In the end the team was pipped to the post by a private boarding school from Peterborough. Despite this the judges were thoroughly impressed with the overall standard of work and with the presentations the pupils delivered – they are of course a huge credit to the school.
